Paraguayan striker and Real Madrid youth player Javier Acuna underwent a successful operation to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, as reported by the club's official website. The Castilla player will miss the rest of the season while he recovers from the operation and must undergo six months of rehabilitation before being ready to return to the pitch.
Acuna was one of the youth team's most promising players this season and his nose for goal caught the attention of first team coach Manuel Pellegrini, who often called the youngster from the youth ranks to train with the first team. Pellegrini even called the Paraguayan up in the squad list for match at Sporting de Gijon, although he did not see time on the pitch.
