Javi Varas joins a season-long loan deal with no option to make the move permanent next summer. Varas stated that he was enthused by the project at Balaidos and remarked that Celta fans have to brace themselves for a tough year in the Primera Division as it is a big step up from the rigours of Segunda Division.
"I am very excited about this project. I get to Vigo in order to help the team achieve permanence. Know that the first year is tough and first to be suffering, but I come with the intention to help the team," the 29-year-old said while talking to reporters.
"The interest of the Celta first thing I got was a determining factor when making a decision. I appreciated much they would notice me from the beginning," said Varas. "It's an assignment for one year. Just landed in the city and still no time to wonder if I will stay longer or not. As the season progresses are valued a lot," he remarked.
