CSKA re-signs Sasha Kaun

CSKA center Alexander Kaun (27 years, 211 cm) will stay in red-blue until the end of 2014-15 season. Kaun turned to red-blue just after his championship season with Kansas University. From that point he played in Euroleague Final Fours three times, won 4 Russian League titles, 2 VTB United League titles and Russian Cup. Sasha finished the previous season as the Euroleague single season (71.2%) and all-time (70.1%) leader in two-point percentage.

Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:

"It is a pleasure to realize that Sasha decided to stay. It should be noted that he did not insist on NBA opt-out though he had a chance to try himself in the NBA. In his four years with CSKA Kaun has become the key player on the court, he showed the desire to improve and he polished his skills even when he was not playing much. Sasha is well-educated, intelligent, friendly person. It is always a pleasure to task to him".

Sasha Kaun, CSKA center:

"I am glad that we agreed to continue our cooperation. It will be a pleasure to play three more years in CSKA uniform. I am sure we will win a lot. But especially I’d like to get another chance to win the Euroleague title, because I still don’t have one. And, surely, we should continue our winning series in Russia. Hopefully, the fans will be glad to see me on the court again".
