Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov was the Most Valuable Player in the tenth round of games in the Spanish Endesa ACB Basketball league this weekend. Ivanov chalked up the best numbers in the ACB for the second time in just 15 days, thanks to his display for Lucentum Alicante in their narrow 77-75 win at home to CAI Zaragoza.
He netted 15 points in the game as well as giving two assists and pulle down 15 rebounds, eight in attack and seven in defense, to make clear his dominance under the ring. Ivanov also provoked nine fouls, which were vital given the narrowness of his side's winning margin and his display now makes him the third most valued player in the ACB this season.
"This has been my best season to date in the ACB and I am very happy with that," the MVP told the ACB official website. "I don't really want to make valuations of my performances, I am happy for others to do that, but there are always things to improve. The most important thing is that the team wins and for the moment were are winning and we look well balanced as a side," he said.
Alicante have been one of the big surprises of the season in the ACB Endesa League. The team coached by former Bilbao coach Txus Vidorreta is currently fifth in the classification with seven wins from their first ten games of the season and look well on course to qualify for the Copa del Rey in February.
